A Celebration of Canada show Opens in St. Albert

Glorious and Free: A Celebration of Canada  (VASA, St. Albert) opened on June 27 and will run until July 29. This juried show was open to all Albertan artists so the viewer will see a wide range of works. I was fortunate enough to have four of my pieces accepted. The opening/artist reception is July 6 from 6- 9:00 pm. A cash bar and appetizers will be served and I will be in attendance. Come out for a great show!

Hidden Treasures Open Studio is now over

The last two days were long but fruitful with many people coming out to the Red Barn/Ottewell Centre to see some great art. Thank you to everyone who came out! It was great to fun. And many people entered the draw for my door prize but, unfortunately, only one individual walked away with my fused glass pendant necklace.

And now I am off working on a series for an upcoming juried show. I will post images when the series is complete.

Setting up for the Hidden Treasures Open Studio Tour

So today was quite busy as I spent the morning setting up my "studio" in the Red Barn/Ottewell Centre, Sherwood Park. I will be showing a wide variety of art pieces from soft pastel to mixed media to monotype prints. I will also exhibit some of my fused glass platters. With the bright sunny weather forecast for this weekend, come out to the Red Barn, pick up a tour brochure and enjoy a day in Strathcona county.

Art Walk...Only One Week Left

With all the planning for the upcoming studio tour as well as trying to gain a handle on my lawn.garden, I almost forgot about the Art Walk @ The Bookstore on Perron Street, St. Albert. There is a little over a week left before I have to take down my pieces. With the upcoming forecast sunny days, head on over to the store and check out my work.

Visit Spruce Grove to see Some Art

So, I entered the Open Seniors' Competition sponsored by the Allied Arts Council (Spruce Grove). I did not take home any prizes but I did come across this image of my work being displayed.  You can not see it too well but it is the graphite drawing top row, third from the left titled "The Country Road."
The show runs one more week until next Friday, June 16.

Long Day...Trip to Calgary

ROAD TRIP!! Today I had to go to Calgary to pick up my art work that was on display at the South Jubilee Auditorium. The drive was great with a few stops along the way to give my back a break  (had to stop at Red Deer's Home Sense and Winners...always great selection there!!!).

With my piece returned I immediately submitted it for consideration in a St. Albert show at the public art gallery. Here's hoping that it will be juried into the show.
